The ticket promotion marks the beginning of a multi-year brand partnership to leverage the soccer team’s brand strength, popularity and fanbase to boost MARTA's brand visibility, increase ridership and contribute to Atlanta’s growing soccer culture.

“Since Atlanta United launched in 2017, MARTA has been an integral part of the matchday experience, providing an efficient, inexpensive way to get to the action,” said MARTA General Manager and CEO Collie Greenwood. “This brand partnership will help MARTA foster deeper engagement and connection with our customers, while also supporting Atlanta’s emergence as the nation’s soccer capital.”

“We are thrilled to partner with an iconic Atlanta company such as MARTA which has been a key player in our supporters’ matchday routine for years,” said Atlanta United President and CEO Garth Lagerwey. “This collaboration represents our commitment to enhancing the matchday experience, and also contributes to our preparations ahead of major international soccer competitions as Atlanta captures the attention of the world in the coming years.”

Mercedes-Benz Stadium is within walking distance of both GWCC/CNN and Vine City rail stations, and in 2023, an average of 17,000 fans rode MARTA to Atlanta United home matches.

Through the partnership, MARTA and Atlanta United will work together on social media promotion, in-stadium branding, digital marketing, co-branded apparel, and radio advertising. MARTA will also host a pre-match activation in The Home Depot Backyard outside the stadium.

Atlanta United has one of the most passionate and diverse fanbases in the metro region, and the 5-Stripes boast the highest average home attendance in MLS.

The U.S. Soccer Federation recently announced it would be building its headquarters and National Training Center in metro Atlanta.

This summer, Mercedes-Benz Stadium will host two CONMEBOL Copa America matches, and in 2026, it will host a total of eight matches, including a semifinal, for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Established in 1971, MARTA is among the largest transit agencies in the U.S., providing 95 percent of the public transit trips in the metro Atlanta region with 110 fixed bus routes, 38 heavy rail stations, 2.7 miles of light rail, and on-demand paratransit services. MARTA is primarily funded by a 1 percent sales tax in Fulton, DeKalb, and Clayton counties and a 1 1/2 percent sales tax in the City of Atlanta. MARTA’s FY 2025 proposed operating and capital budgets total $1.6 billion. To learn more visit www.itsmarta.com
